Like giving tasks to a junior coworker and getting back a first draft, then guiding them to improve it. A coding agent is an AI that reads your goal and your files, then writes or edits code to move the work forward.
It matters because it speeds up the slow parts: wiring screens, setting up data, and fixing small errors. It still needs clear direction and review, because it can misunderstand or guess wrong.
In practice, you describe a feature, such as a sign‑up screen or a purchase flow, and the agent edits your React Native files, suggests database changes, and writes messages explaining why. In this course we use Claude Code, which can also suggest commands to run, create commits with clear messages, and point out follow‑ups.
